Melissa is a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist with extensive experience helping adults with language (aphasia), motor speech , cognitive, and swallowing disorders, typically resulting from neurological illness.

She earned her Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Ithaca College and has worked in inpatient and outpatient clinic and teletherapy settings. Much of her career was spent specializing in the evaluation and treatment of adults recovering from stroke and brain injury at Magee Rehabilitation Hospital where she also led the Cancer Care Committee and co-initiated the Music Therapy Department.

Melissa is licensed in Connecticut and Washington state and is a SPEAK OUT!® Provider and Certified Lingraphica® Technology Specialist. She provides individualized, evidence-based care focused on improving communication, cognition, and quality of life while partnering with clients and their families throughout the rehabilitation journey.

Outside of work, Melissa enjoys spending time with her family, reading, and going to the beach.
